Literary Scholars Program

Be a Literary Scholar! Earn a graduation cord for reading.

Your Mission:

Read 10,000 pages** by the time you graduate from TVHS.

Your Reward:

Gained knowledge. Increased Vocabulary. More Empathy. A broader worldview. AND...a cord to wear at graduation! Plus other fun surprises as you go!

Your Task:

Read and log pages throughout the year. You will log pages through ReadSquared, on either the website at tvhs.readsquared.com or on the ReadSquared app (available for iOS and Android).

Get reading! Come by the library for book recommendations and to browse great reads. Have a book with you all the time - you never know when you will have a few minutes to squeeze in some reading.

Explore our ebook and audiobook app, SORA, to find something to read on-the-go.

All reading counts toward your total pages - ebooks, audiobooks, graphic novels, manga, even articles or reading for classes!

If you need support with SORA or using ReadSquared, or you need an alternate way to log your pages or complete missions, please contact Liza Bauer, Teacher Librarian, at liza.bauer@tsd.org. You can also come to the library and we will help you!

**To earn a Literary Scholar graduation cord, you will need to read:

Seniors, Class of 2026: 5,000 total pages

Juniors, Class of 2027: 7,500 total pages

Sophomores, Class of 2028: 10,000 total pages

Freshmen, Class of 2029 (and all classes coming after): 10,000 total pages

Please note that the total pages you need to read is not per year, but a total for all years until you graduate. Also note that as we begin this program, page requirements are tiered to allow for everyone to have the opportunity to participate and earn a graduation cord.
