Thompson Valley High School

Welcome to Thompson Valley High School, home of the Eagles!
Our staff is dedicated to creating unique experiences in a supportive environment that empowers lifelong learning. We strive to be #TVSTRONG by showing Strength, participating in Teamwork, being Respectful, Open-minded, and Noble, and moving in a positive direction by setting and achieving Goals.
Students have ample opportunity to be #TVSTRONG through multiple venues.
Academics
TVHS offers the most Advanced Placement (AP) classes in the district. We offer AP classes in multiple content areas, and starting in the 2018-2019 school year, we will offer students the opportunity to earn an AP diploma by taking AP Seminar and AP Research. Students can also earn the Seal of Biliteracy, which appears on their transcript, by taking AP language courses and demonstrating proficiency in their chosen language. On the U.S. News and World Report list of high schools, TVHS ranks in the top 1,200 nationally. Our graduating seniors, as a group, regularly receive more scholarship money than any other group in the district. We have had several students awarded the Daniels Fund Scholarship and the Boettcher Scholarship, two prestigious awards.
Extracurriculars
Not only do our students work hard in the classroom, but they also work hard in their extracurricular activities! We offer a variety of clubs for students, as well as sports, choir, band, and orchestra. Our art students regularly win awards and scholarships based on their talents. Our sports teams and music groups also regularly attend state and regional competitions, and they have won many state titles due to their Strength, Teamwork, and Goal-setting.
Community Connections
We partner with Colorado State University (CSU) for the Professional Development School (PDS), in which pre-service teachers have the opportunity to work with our amazing staff and students. We also partner with CSU and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) to provide pre-service teachers with a student-teaching venue where they can learn from the best teachers in education. We have many clubs that do community service to help improve our community, such as through blood drives, canned food drives, adopt-a-family, and more.
